Project Description:

To meet the much-needed classroom and culinary laboratory space demands, Johnson & Wales University selected Vision 3 Architects to lead the planning, programming and design of a 7,500 s.f. adaptive reuse renovation of the Xavier Academic Hall.

Located in the University’s Downcity Campus, the facility features three new culinary laboratories including a 1,200 s.f. kitchen lab, a 900 s.f. dining lab, and a 1,200 s.f. beverage lab. The project also included a comprehensive renovation to repurpose a 4,200 s.f. area to accommodate new faculty offices and meeting space. The University’s goal is to provide students with real world culinary experience. To that end, Vision 3 designed culinary lab spaces that feature real world hospitality and restaurant settings.
