Holiday Inn

South Kingstown, RI

54,800 s.f.

The exterior of the hotel had received only minor cosmetic upgrades since it had been built in 1968. To today’s clientele, it was tired, dirty, and dimly lit.

Vision 3 Architects was asked to update the look of the entire facility and revitalize the entrances to the existing hotel lobby and restaurant. The use of different colors and textures in combination with metal accents and grille work add depth and dimensionality to the ‘skin’ of the building. Replacement of the storefront windows with more intimately scaled windows and the application of traditional details transformed a 1960’s style hotel into a more contemporary looking midscale hotel. The new exterior and porte cochere result in a more visible, interesting, and inviting building.
