Project Description:

Vision 3 completed the master plan, design and construction of a 17,500 s.f. addition to the Alfred Elson, Jr. Boys & Girls Club in Pawtucket. The new addition houses the Club’s Teen Center, which provides program and homework rooms, a full size gymnasium, fitness center, and games area. New administration offices are located in the upper level. A goal of the project was to promote safety by providing visual connections between most of the spaces, while creating separate spaces. The project included a major interior renovation of the 35,000 s.f. existing building and additional viewing area in the pool room, as well as renovations to the Arts program (dance, music, art), a commercial kitchen, and multi-purpose dining space.

Testimonial:

“Youth who use the Club have embraced every aspect of the renovation and 18,000 s.f. expansion, from the new athletic facilities to the expanded spaces for visual and performing arts, education and other after-school activities. Our Club previously served about 250 youth on a daily basis in 42,000 s.f. of space. We now have room for more than 500 in 60,000 s.f. of space. That added capacity was the key achievement of a project designed to allow young people to stay in a healthy environment for longer hours. Since we cut the ribbon last year we have increased our average daily attendance by 50% and the number of youth who come regularly by 72%.

Vision 3’s design was truly outstanding – and we could not be happier. Thanks to how they interpreted our needs and brought things to fruition, our Club stands as a model for Clubs across the nation.”
