When Johnson & Wales University needed to re-image their Harborside Academic Center dining facility, they turned to Vision 3 Architects to design a “contemporary rustic” space where students would want to eat, work and relax between classes. The dining concept, built during summer break, features a mix of seating styles, stone walls, unique light fixtures and splashes of color. Cooking activities are on display and students watch as their peers prepare meals. Flat screen monitors, used as menu boards, give staff flexibility in promotion of ever-changing menu offerings. “Red Sauce” creates what the University was looking for... that WOW! factor, and a whole new identity for the dining experience at the Harborside Campus.
